I was going to leave a long comment - but I’m just going to leave this article instead. While the viewership is there, it could be inflated. You are on point with quite a few points. Without AI regulation and laws at the federal level we are screwed.
There’s no citation of where this viewership data is from. The financial data is all self reported to those research firms.
It’s a great overview of self-reported results. But Netflix did this same thing its first few quarters and part of the problem is we erased cable TV on the assumption it was real.
